Belleville, I’m here
!
Exhibition
For the first time, La Manufacture is hosting Belleville’s artists, with an exhibition bringing together contemporary artists and fine craft artisans in this new craft hub—born out of the alternative citizen-led project proposed 10 years ago to save the Ramponeau courtyard metalworks.
Mapping out a mental landscape that connects spaces of creation and spaces of resistance, the exhibition “Belleville, I’m here!” echoes the rich history of the Belleville neighborhood. It invites visitors to wander off the beaten path, embrace the unexpected, and discover how art and poetry have found sanctuary even in the furthest corners of Belleville.
Curated by Mô Mathey and Catherine Olivier.
Featuring: Jean-Christophe Adenis, Sonia Ahmimou, Atelier Figura Sfondo, Serge Barto, Cécile Bourdais, Adélaïde Germain, Kodai Hihara, Tamami Ichimura, Solange Jungers, Mô Mathey, Federica Nadalutti, Paul Naillon, Emma Nony, Catherine Olivier, Géraldine Pinault, Edgar Skomorovski.

Le Pas de la Tortue (AT A SNAIL’S PACE)
A MUSICAL ROAD MOVIE FOR ONE ACTOR AND A FEW PROPS
Written and performed by Pierre Carrive
Music: Clément Roussillat
Artistic collaboration: Hervé Bontemps

“Sometimes, while asleep, I feel a character sit on my bed, asking me to bring them to life.”
— Paul Vecchiali
I have been traveling the roads for years. Along the roadsides, there are people—waiting or wandering, working or out of work, loving each other behind closed doors, in gardens, or under the canopy of woods. There are also empty landscapes where only traces remain. So, I photograph these places, and in the evening, in temporary rooms, I use these images to write down these fragments of life gathered from the edge of the road. Faces and landscapes, moving at a snail’s pace, getting to know one another, sharing these small, ordinary lives that mirror our own.
There will be an illiterate shepherd, a wrestler, a fearless snail, a cheerleader, a fallen prince, a Johnny Cash lookalike, a mute laborer, a star-crossed lover, a veteran, a crêpe vendor, a Syrian refugee, a limping man, a lady of the night… And a red-footed tortoise. There will be the sky, the road, the wind, the rain, the grass, the stones, and the trees.

ANGLE Mort (BLIND SPOT)
MASKED PERFORMANCE
Léa Duchmann is a draftsman, puppeteer, and aikidoka. Her various practices intertwine and influence one another, leading her to perform both in theaters and on the streets. In her storytelling, she loves to employ metaphor, the absurd, and the uncanny, shifting seamlessly from monstrous fascination to laughter. She embraces contrast: clean lines, the stillness of thunder, and the gentleness of the slightest gesture.
