AROUND ŌTAWARA
RESIDENCY, SUMMER 2025, JAPAN
Since 2017, AAB has been organizing exchange projects with the Ōtawara Institute of Art Cultural Studies, an artists collective located in Ōtawara, Japan.
In the summer of 2025, our Japanese partner invited Catherine Olivier, painter and visual artist, to take part in a three-week artist residency. The Belleville-based artist was welcomed alongside two guest sculptors, Slobodan Miloseski (North Macedonia) and Yang Yun Chen (Taiwan).
During this creative residency, they were joined by three artists from the institute: Tamami Ichimura, Kotone Kakuya, and Kodai Hihara.
