Anatomy of an Encounter
An Artistic Exchange between Paris and Schiedam
The AAB and Stichting KunstWerkt—a Dutch visual arts association based in Schiedam (near Rotterdam, Netherlands)—have developed a collaborative artistic exchange centered on the theme of “the encounter.”
The project began with fourteen artists from both associations working together on this theme, sharing ideas and perspectives via a dedicated digital platform. This collaborative process evolved into a joint exhibition, presented in two parts, titled “Anatomy of an Encounter.”
The project will be showcased in March 2026 at the Galerie des AAB in Paris, followed by a second presentation in Schiedam in April 2026.

About Stichting KunstWerkt: Based in Schiedam (Netherlands) and located within repurposed industrial spaces, this association hosts studios, residencies, and exhibitions. Its name can be translated as the “Art in Action Foundation”—a play on the words kunstwerk (artwork) and werken (to work, or to be effective). With about fifty member artists, the organization plays a vital role in Schiedam’s cultural scene, placing a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and cultural exchange.
