Jaime Lee Girard is a Korean-American painter based in Paris since 2022.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jaime moved with her family to the United States at the age of two. Raised across multiple cities, she found continuity through drawing and painting and developed an earnest sketchbook practice early on.

After a childhood full of love for drawing, Jaime abandoned her art practice for almost two decades as she pursued her studies in law and went on to work at some of the largest international law firms. It was only after a fateful incident, which almost left her blind, that she found the courage to pick up her paintbrushes and pursue art once again.

Today, Jaime’s practice focuses on plein air and studio landscape painting. She draws heavily from the impressionist tradition, painting outdoors to capture fleeting moments and light. She aims to preserve a sense of idealism and naïveté in her work and is inspired by her many international travels, her love of France, and the belief in the need for more nature, stillness and beauty in our daily lives.

In addition to being an active member of Ateliers d’Artistes de Belleville, Jaime is a member of 100ecs, where she works in a collective art studio, and Paris Ateliers, where she is an amateur restorer of antique artworks.
