Jaime Lee Girard is a Korean-American painter based in Paris, France.

Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1991, Jaime moved with her family to the United States at the age of two. Moving from city to city about a dozen times throughout her childhood, Jaime found solace in her art materials & invented cartoon characters, developing an earnest sketchbook practice very early on.

After winning school art competitions as a child, Jaime was persuaded in her later years to concentrate on attending law school. Aware that becoming a lawyer required her full attention, Jaime abandoned her art practice for almost two decades as she pursued her legal studies and went on to work at some of the largest international law firms. It was only through a fateful incident, which almost left her blind, that she found the courage to pick up her paintbrushes and pursue art once again.

Today, Jaime’s practice focuses on plein air and studio landscape painting. Her style is characterized by a blend of Western impressionist techniques and Eastern naïve art, reflecting her mixed cultural upbringing. She is inspired by her many international travels, her love of France, and the belief in the need for more nature, stillness, and beauty in our daily lives.

Jaime currently resides and is active in the lively artistic communities of Paris. In addition to her painting practice, she is also an experienced corporate attorney and amateur restorer of antique artworks.
