Stéphanie Malossane
Peinture, Photographie

Grandeur, Huile et cyanotype sur papier 21X29,7cm 2025
After studying Textile Art in Paris and then London, Stéphanie Malossane set up her studio in London in the 1990s, where her work was recognised on the London ‘Best British Art and Design’ scene. Her unique textile panels and ‘Prints’ mixing dyeing, silk-screening and historic photographic processes have won her international commissions for hotels, department stores and private collections in the USA, Great Britain and Asia. In 2000, after three trips to Japan, she took an artistic turn and presented her first paintings combining oil and alternative historical photography in London, then exhibited regularly in Ireland and England. Her first series of limited-edition digital photographs, ‘Sea Blur’, saw the light of day in 2011, in Finistère, where she lived for 7 years, followed by ‘Lunes’, round canvases visible at night through phosphorescence. The ‘Quantum Blur’ exhibition heralds a turning point in the presentation and mix of works, combining installation, video, small sculptures and paintings on the same theme of superimposed time. The ‘veils’ (photographic print on paper and superimposed veil) were born in 2014 and exhibited in the gallery in the large format ‘Dans la vague du temps suspendu’ in 2015 when she returned to Paris. The Inner series in 2018 will reveal the relationship of her Art to the invisible world, reflections on what makes a work come alive and how it can soothe. The result was ‘Œuvres d’Ames’, a self-published boxed set of cards revealing the messages of 52 works of art. In 2024, she made her first voyage of initiation to the banks of the Nile. Marked by this revelatory journey out of time, between sky and water, she began a new series of suspended canvases and round formats exploring water as a mirror of the sky.
