Jacotte Sibre

"Bonne Femme". 2025. Bronze, dimensions cm 50*20*25.15Kg

A graduate of the Institut Français de la Photographie, Jacotte took part in the textile exhibition organised for the inauguration of the Pavillon Baltard in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1976. Two years later, she closed her fashion photography studio and trained as a costume designer. Attracted by the world of Opera, theatre and circus, she started out as an assistant costume designer at the Opera de Paris and was commissioned by several directors to make costumes. She feeds her imagination with all forms of art, drawing, painting, engraving, sculpture and styles, and holds numerous exhibitions, particularly of her textile work. Until 2002, she divided her time between stage costumes and her own artistic production, which she exhibited in galleries and art centres. In the early 2010s, she presented a series of unusual works under the name ‘Manteaulogie’, which were exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in Paris, the French regions and abroad. In 2015, Manteau Ethnique won the Environmental Art Prize at the Salon d’Automne in Paris.

Since then, Jacotte has been involved in a number of projects, including the book ‘Vieillir, c’est pas pour les mauviettes’, published by L’œil de la femme à barbe in 2021. She is particularly fond of modelling in terracotta. In 2025 she made her first bronzes, ‘Bonne femme’ and ‘M Paul’.
